If the part is wrong, we put it right. If you simply changed your mind, you can send it back within 14 days. Here is exactly how both work.
1. If the part is faulty, or not what we described
This is our mistake, and we carry the cost of it.
Write to info@usedecus.com with your order number and a photograph of the part, including the number stamped on it. We will reply with a return label or reimburse your postage, and once the part is back you can choose a full refund or a replacement if we have one.
Please tell us as soon as you reasonably can after you notice the problem. Reporting it quickly helps us sort it out quickly, but it does not take away any right you have by law.
What counts as faulty
- The part does not work, or works badly
- The part number is not the one in the listing
- The part is damaged in a way the photographs did not show
- The part was damaged in transit
What does not count as faulty
Every part we sell is used, and is photographed as it is. Marks, scratches, faded paint, worn clips and ordinary wear that can be seen in the photographs are part of what you are buying, not a defect. The same goes for a part that works but does not suit you.
2. If you changed your mind
If you are buying as a consumer, you may cancel your order within 14 days of the day you (or someone you nominated) received the part. You do not have to give a reason.
Tell us by e-mail at info@usedecus.com before the 14 days are up. A short message is enough — your order number and that you wish to cancel. Then send the part back within 14 days of telling us.
We refund within 14 days of receiving the part back, or of you showing us proof that you have sent it, whichever comes first. The refund goes to the same payment method you used, and includes the standard delivery cost we charged you, if any.
Parts that have been fitted
You are welcome to inspect and test-fit a part, as you would in a shop. But if the part has been installed and used, painted, drilled, cut, re-coded or otherwise altered, it has lost value, and we may reduce the refund accordingly — or, where the part can no longer be resold at all, decline the return. Please also keep the original packaging where you can.
3. Our own 30-day fitment promise
Beyond what the law requires, we add one thing of our own. If within 30 days of delivery the part turns out not to fit your car, write to us. We will take it back and refund the price of the part, even after the 14 days above have passed. Return postage is yours, and the part must come back in the condition it went out in.
We offer this because a used part is only useful if it fits, and we would rather have the part back on our shelf than leave you with a part you cannot use.
4. Your rights by law
Nothing on this page takes away rights you have under Latvian and European Union consumer law, and nothing here is meant to. In particular, as a consumer you have a statutory right to a remedy if goods do not conform to the contract, for two years from delivery, under Section 13 of the Latvian Consumer Rights Protection Law. During the first year it is for us, not you, to show that the part conformed when it left us.
How that applies to a used part is a matter of what could reasonably be expected of that particular part, at that price, in the condition described. It does not make a second-hand part into a new one.
If we cannot settle a complaint between us, you can take it to the Consumer Rights Protection Centre (Patērētāju tiesību aizsardzības centrs) in Latvia, or to the consumer body in your own country.
5. Business buyers
The 14-day cancellation right and the consumer guarantee above apply to consumers. If you are buying for a business — a garage, a dealer, a trade account — those statutory consumer rights do not apply. Our own 30-day fitment promise does, and so does section 1 above: if we sent you the wrong part or a faulty one, we put it right.
6. What we do not cover
Our responsibility is limited to the part itself: repairing it, replacing it, or refunding what you paid for it, plus postage where we are at fault. We do not cover fitting or removal labour, diagnostic time, towing, hire cars, lost earnings, missed work, or damage caused by fitting a part incorrectly or by an underlying fault in the vehicle.
Used electronic parts — control units in particular — often need coding to your car by someone with the right equipment. That coding is not included in the price, and a part that is not coded is not a faulty part.
How to start a return
- E-mail info@usedecus.com with your order number and a sentence saying what is wrong, or that you wish to cancel.
- Attach a photograph of the part and of the number on it.
- We reply with the return address and, where we are at fault, a label.
- Pack the part as well as it came to you and send it off.
Please do not send anything back before writing to us — a parcel that arrives with no order number takes much longer to deal with.
